Amazon Launches 1-Hour Delivery: What Sellers Need to Know

Social Share

Amazon is starting 1-hour and 3-hour delivery choices in several cities in the U.S. as the e-commerce leader looks to rival instant delivery firms like DoorDash, Instacart, & Uber Eats.

The e-commerce business is making over 90,000 products available through this new delivery system. If an item is delivered in 1 or 3 hours, it will look at the label stating that next to that product on the Amazon app. You will also get a filter for these new delivery options in the application & on the website.

Prime members need to pay $9.99 for 1-hour delivery & $4.99 for 3-hour delivery. If you are not a Prime subscriber, the charge will be $19.99 for 1-hour delivery & $14.99 for 3-hour delivery. In this blog, we will explore which cities and which categories are included in Amazon's 1-Hour Delivery or 3-Hour Delivery options.

Where It’s Available: 1-Hour and 3-Hour Options (U.S. Cities)

Several cities & towns worldwide have 1-hour delivery accessible at commencement, involving major regions such as Chicago, Los Angeles, & Washington, D.C., also in smaller cities such as Boise, American Fork, Idaho, & Utah.

Three-hour delivery is accessible to users in over 2,000 cities & towns, from big and mid-size urban centers to their area & beyond.

Both options will be present 7 days a week, & Amazon states it plans to set up the delivery choices to even more regions in the coming months.

What Every E-commerce US Seller Must Know?

  • Amazon’s 1-hour delivery has set a new standard; users now expect near fulfillment.
  • Inventory should be placed closer to users to allow ultra-quick shipping.
  • Delivery speed directly influences conversions; quicker options can majorly boost sales.
  • Sellers need flexible logistics partners to compete with fast delivery ecosystems.
  • Higher fulfillment costs need smarter pricing & margin management approaches.
  • Differentiation is core to competing not only based on speed.

Best Product Categories to Target

Qualified products are the kinds of things for which you can create a Target run: health and beauty items, pantry staples, baby essentials, & over-the-counter medications. Other types involve toys, electronics, clothing & accessories, & home and garden.

Action Checklist for Sellers

1. Enroll in FBA if not already: FBA is the only route to speed badge eligibility. Run the numbers now.

2. Audit your top SKUs: Find out which items are in your highest-selling US cities & push inventory into Same-Day hubs there.

3. Increase stock in covered cities: Storage costs may boost, but the conversion from the speed badge mainly exceeds it.

4. Update your listings for urgency keywords: Buyers are now looking for quick delivery & same-day. Showcase speed in your titles & bullet points where necessary.

5. Check eligibility: Confirm your fulfillment region falls in the given zones.

6. Monitor competitors in your category: If competitors are already using the speed badge, your visibility slot is already expanding.

Can WebBee Help? — Yes, Here's How

WebBee Feature Why it matters for a 1-hour delivery

Multi-Channel order management: Sellers on WooCommerce, Shopify, or other platforms, along with Amazon, require a smooth sync so that quick Amazon orders won’t cause oversells anywhere.

Real-time inventory sync: WebBee keeps inventory levels precise at all channels immediately, vital when the same-day hub stock is small.

Hub-level inventory insight:They help sellers track stock positioning & flag when core SKUs are not placed in Same-day-eligible locations.

FBA fulfillment automation: WebBee’s FBA integration enables orders to be navigated via Amazon fulfillment with no human interference.

Conclusion

This is not the first time Amazon has tried to make changes in its deliveries. In 2014, Amazon launched one-hour delivery under Prime Now, but stopped it in 2021. And in 2025 December, it accompanied a 30-minute delivery choice in Philadelphia & Seattle. They are trying to delve into the fast-e-commerce game globally.

Already on Amazon and want to ensure your inventory is ready for 1-hour delivery? WebBee helps you stay synced, stocked, & ahead.
